Who We Are

Built on the Belief That Home Is Best

Skyhollow was shaped by families who wanted something honest, reliable, and kind for their elderly loved ones — and found it wasn't easy to come by.

Our Story

How Skyhollow Came to Be

Skyhollow began in Taichung in 2011, when two local families faced the same difficult question: how do you give an ageing parent the care they need without uprooting the life they've always known?

The founder, who had spent years working in community health outreach in central Taiwan, saw that the gap wasn't in the willingness of families to help — it was in access to trustworthy, well-trained people who could step in and extend that care on a daily basis.

Starting with a small team in the North District, Skyhollow grew steadily through referrals and a straightforward principle: treat every person in our care the way we'd want our own grandparents treated. That hasn't changed.

Today we work with families across Taichung, supporting seniors through a range of arrangements — from a few hours of housekeeping each week to full-time live-in care. Every arrangement is individual, because no two people's needs are the same.

How We Work

Quality Standards & Protocols

The standards below are not aspirations — they are the baseline from which all our care is delivered.

Caregiver Verification

Every caregiver undergoes a thorough background check, identity verification, and reference review before joining. No exceptions are made to this process, regardless of prior experience.

Structured Training

All team members complete an in-house training programme covering personal care, fall prevention, basic nutrition, emergency response, and communication with families. Refresher modules are held annually.

Written Care Records

Care notes are completed after every visit or shift. Families receive summaries and are able to access records at any time. This keeps everyone informed and allows early identification of any change in the senior's condition.

Transparent Agreements

All care arrangements are set out clearly in writing before care begins, with no hidden terms. Scope, pricing, responsibilities, and change procedures are documented so families know exactly what they are agreeing to.

Privacy Protection

Personal and health-related information shared with Skyhollow is held with strict confidentiality. Data is accessed only by staff with a direct care role and is never shared with third parties without explicit family consent.

Regular Care Reviews

Care needs shift over time. We hold structured reviews with families on a quarterly basis — or sooner if circumstances change — to make sure the arrangement in place still reflects the real situation and remains appropriate.

What We Stand For

Expertise Rooted in the Reality of Everyday Care

Skyhollow's approach to elderly home support draws on more than a decade of direct service delivery in Taichung. Our caregivers are not placed and left to manage alone — they are part of a structured team with a dedicated coordinator overseeing each arrangement and available to respond whenever families need to reach us.

In-home care for older adults in Taiwan sits at a particular intersection of family culture and practical need. Many families hold strong preferences for keeping elderly parents or grandparents at home, and those preferences deserve to be honoured. We exist to make that choice sustainable — not by replacing family involvement, but by extending it with reliable professional support.

We hold a particular focus on the quality and character of our caregivers. Technical skills in personal care, mobility assistance, and household management matter. So does temperament: patience, attentiveness, the ability to read when someone wants company and when they want quiet. These are the qualities we seek and train for, and they are what families in Taichung have come to associate with the Skyhollow name.

Our services are available across the North District and wider Taichung Metropolitan Area. Families are welcome to contact us at any stage — whether you're beginning to plan for the future or need support to begin promptly.
